Stage 1
Team Assembly & War Room
Getting the crew together

A friend of mine who was learning Godot heard that the engine’s community was hosting a week long game jam. The theme was “Critters”. My friend asked me if I was interested in helping him and another member with the game. I said yes, eager to learn new art. On the first day, we hopped on a Discord call and pulled up Linear to discuss tasks and a rough timeline of when these tasks should be completed. I had never worked with pixel art animation before, so I proposed that my first 4-5 days would be spent on learning Aseprite and designing the characters since I already have experience as a musician and composer. As a result, I left the last two days for soundtrack pitches and sound effects. I reviewed my teammate’s proposed timelines as well and agreed with their proposed tasks and deadlines. We spent a total 3 hours deliberating.
